The academic center for ISB was created as the focal point of the campus, both visually and functionally. The goal was to create a strong learning environment to accommodate the concentrated Executive Programs. Therefore, the classrooms and offices are located in this central facility to increase the interaction of students with executives, and to enhance the opportunities for learning on both sides.

Arranged around a central courtyard are four, four-tiered, amphitheater-style classrooms. Each classroom provides break-out space to accommodate the typical student interaction and grouping of business school pedagogy, with the faculty offices located just one floor below. The Library/Information Center provides integrated technologies to support learning, and is located in the center of the building, elevated on piers to create an outdoor room in the center of the courtyard. This design serves to enhance the courtyard/community gathering space and becomes the living room of the campus. Additional support facilities are located along the sides of the courtyard at the lower level.
