   MASTER PLANNING
Armstrong Atlantic State University
Savannah, Georgia

This master plan update responds to a transformation from a commuter campus to a regional residential campus. The ten-year master plan balances the enrollment growth from 5,700 to 9,000 students on a 250-acre (101-hectare) campus.

The current and future overall space requirements, based on the analysis of the enrollment and the future academic programs, guide the development. Overall, the plan consolidates the academic core, redefines the internal campus road network, open areas, and pedestrian circulation, and carefully addresses the issue of the zoning of athletics and recreation functions with the current and future housing.

The plan also sets the stage for future land acquisition and physical growth beyond the ten-year horizon, including demands on the utility infrastructure, parking needs, outdoor recreation and athletic requirements to accommodate future growth.
