This master plan update, developed for a 530-acre (214-hectare) campus, addressed the academic and housing issues effected by a 200% growth rate in student population over a ten-year period. The new plan, in consideration of the current population of 14,000 students, consolidates the academic core along the new pedestrian spine and expands the existing housing areas along the eastern edge of the campus, while preserving the significant wetlands and other woodland areas which surround the campus. John Portman & Associates worked in association with Sasaki & Associates on this master plan.
